Access Independence, Inc. (Ai) promotes independent living for Virginia’s Northern Shenandoah Valley. Ai is a center for independent living, referred to as a CIL. We are a consumer controlled, community based, cross disability, nonresidential, private nonprofit organization that is designed and operated within our local region by individuals with disabilities. Ai’s mission is to promote independent living by providing services that enhance the quality of life for people with disabilities living in Virginia’s Northern Shenandoah Valley. We in-vision a barrier-free community for all individuals to achieve their greatest potential. We provide the core services of Individual and Systems Advocacy, Peer Mentoring, Independent Living Skills Training, Information and Referral, and Transition Services. In addition, we offer Deaf/Hard of Hearing Equipment and Services, Service Facilitation for the in-home personal care Medicaid Waivers, Representative Payee Services, Energy Share, and an Equipment Loan program.
